Plot Summary of I'm With The Band: Confessions Of A Groupie
"Pamela Des Barres, born in 1948, grew up missing her dad in southern California in the late 50's and 60's. She became infatuated with Elvis and most of the Rock n' Roll stars that passed her way from that point on. As a hardcore groupie known as Miss Pamela, she set her sights on the musical giants of the time. Her partial list of "boyfriends" is a who's who of 60's rock 'n roll: Keith Moon, Jim Morrison, Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page, Frank Zappa, Waylon Jennings, Michael Des Barres, Chris Hillman, Noel Redding, Nick St. Nicholas, and actor Don Johnson.

In her tell-all autobiography she is a top-notch groupie, member of the first all-girl rock band, soap opera actress, film actress, author, wife, and mother. Her relationships ranged from only a matter of hours to several years, depending on the availability of the object of her affection, as several were married when she dated them. While her story may seem sad and desperate as she searches for love and a career but mostly finds demeaning sexual exploitation, her consolation was a lifetime of incredible experiences in the music industry that changed the culture of America and Britain. Ms. Des Barres appears to have few regrets about the life she led."
