Plot Summary of Black Betty
"   Easy Rawlins is hired to find Elizabeth Eady, a black woman who is missing from the house of her rich employer who has just died. He discovers that her brother has been killed, and as he continues to search for her he learns that she was the mistress of the wealthy dead man and had two children with him. He also discovers that she is the heir to his fortune. The police seem to want to blame Elizabeth for the murder of her employer, and Easy must try to find her and learn the truth. In the process, her two children are also killed.
