| Plot Summary of Conduct Unbecoming: A Principal Under Siege |
" This book describes the events surrounding the dismisal of Beulah Jones, the only principal to be fired three times in the history of the Chicago Public School System.
It portrays teachers as incompetent, inept and oft-times dishonest individuals who view any criticism of their performance as harrassment; it describes the insecurities of some school officials who were unable to cope with the challenges of "the system"; and it exemplifies how a few uninformed parents and community residents can illegally disrupt the educational process for hundreds of children.
The book renders and eye-opening account of the deeper turmoil, confusion and division existing in the arena of public education.
