Plot Summary of Hemingway's Chair
"Hemingway's Chair by Michael Palin of Monty Python fame is a sweet natured tale of love and career gone sour. Martin is a small town postal clerk in rural England. He is passed over for promotion to a young go-getter. Nick Marshall, the new guy, shakes things up, ruining the charm and quaintness of the towns post office. He even steals Martin's gal Elaine.

Everything changes when Martin meets American book buyer and Hemingway scholar Ruth Kohler. She is in town to write about Hemingway's women. She purchases a seat from one of Hemingway's fishing boats for Martin. He goes through an out of body process and takes on Hemingway-like characteristics. In the end Martin serves Nick his comeuppence before retreating to Key West to start a new chapter in his life. "
