| Plot Summary of The Reasons for Marriage |
" In London, Jason Montgomery, the Duke of Eversleigh, is recuperating from his little brother's death at Waterloo and soon comes to realize he must do what his little brother was suppose to do and provide a heir for the dukedom. He and his friend, Frederick Marshall, establish a list of what he requires for a wife. After reviewing invites from the ton, they decide to check out Lenore Lester, spinster little sister of some of his friends.
Lenore does not to marry ever, so she puts on a disguise as a awkward lady, hiding behind glasses, ugly figure-disguising dresses, and severe hairstyles. Jason sees behind her facade and decides to pursue her as his wife. After shedding her disguise, she is shown to the ton as the beautiful woman she is, only this arouses jealousy in Jason and problems in their relationship, especially since the feeling of love is growing in them both, though both try to hide the fact to save their pride.
