"Alexis Smythe moves from her urban existence to the Ozarks. She is a journalist who wants to write a story about a country musician who has slipped through the cracks. They have many encounters and finally begin a romance against the odds. Through John's eyes, Alexis begins to understand the mountain culture and the people.
