Plot Summary of Wings of the Falcon
"Orphaned during her last year of school, Francesca finds herself in the Italian home of her mother's estranged family. Although puzzled by the warmth of her reception into the house, Francesca is pleased to meet her twin cousins and her grandfather, an Italian noble. But Italy in the 1850s' is a revolutionary place, and her cousins and grandfather all have opposing views on the political situation. Francesca begins to settle in, and learns of a masked revolutionary called the Falcon, who she begins to think is her cousin Andrea. Soldiers assuming the same thing begin making frequent stops at the castle, trying to catch him in the act, creating strain between the family members. Meanwhile, Francesca is taunted by her other cousin, Stefano, gains a widowed British companion for propriety, and becomes enamored of the Italian countryside--until someone tries to kill her in it."
