| Plot Summary of Riding in Cars with Boys |

"Beverly Donofrio is in high school when she becomes pregnant with her dead beat boyfriend's baby. Her parents are furious and says that she can't live with them if she keeps the baby. She does, and moves with her boyfriend, Raymond to the local housing projects. She is very disappointed when she has the baby and it is not the girl that she had hoped for and expected, but instead a boy. When she finally brings him home she has to deal with being the only one who will take care of Jason, as his father is always out somewhere. Eventually Ray and Bev marry, but soon she finds out about his drug problem, and he eventually leaves. Bev dreams of being a writer, and is intent on acheiving that goal, even if she is a very young single mother."
