Plot Summary of Heartburn
"Rachel Samstat is a cookbook author. Seven months into her pregnancy, she discovers that her husband Mark is having an affair and is in love with the “other woman”. As Rachel takes comfort in food and offers up some of her favorite recipes, she alternates between trying to win her husband back and wishing he were dead. She also struggles to come to terms with her husband's betrayal and to deal with the insensitivity offered up by her friends and relatives alike. Ultimately, Rachel must decide what she's going to do –stay with Mark or let him go?"
