| Plot Summary of Golden Surrender |

"Olaf the White (based on an actual historical character) invades Ireland and secures Dublin for the Norwegian Vikings. He loses the love of his life, Grenilde, in a battle for supremacy against Danish vikings. The Irish High King offers his daughter to Olaf in marriage to seal a truce, but Erin (who has survived an attack lead by Olaf and Grenilde years before and who has led Irish resistance fighters in secret since) hates and defies him at every turn.
Olaf and Erin begin their own truce and journey towards love when they find passion in their marraige bed, but when Erin sets out to rescue Olaf from a Danish ambush, she is tricked into leading the Danes themselves against Olaf in a case of mistaken identities. Olaf thinks himself betrayed and shuns Erin until she gives birth to their son Leith.
But then the Danish vikings steal the baby and Erin trades herself as hostage to draw out Olaf to a final grudge match between vikings."
