Plot Summary of Dr. Death
"Dr. Alex Delaware is asked by a judge friend to see a friend of her daughter's. The friend (Stacy) is very depressed because her mother (Joanne) contacted a doctor to help her commit suicide. Dr. Mate has helped several people who were seriously ill to die humanely. Alex was contacted by a police officer friend that said they found Dr. Mate dead in a van on a country road outside the city, and that he was hooked up to his own machine. No evidence left in the van that would tell them how to find the killer. They go through a list of suspects from a deranged FBI agent to the couple that found Dr. Mate's van."
Laura Allen, Resident Scholar

"There's no shortage of suspects when Eldon Mate, a somewhat Jack Kevorkian-like euthanasist, is brutally murdered. Not only are there the millions who considered his actions immoral but also his estranged son and nowhere-to-be-found attorney.
Thankfully, Kellerman regulars Dr. Alex Delaware and Det. Milo Sturgis are on the case. Delaware, however, is faced with a conflict of interest: one of his patients is the daughter of Mate's final "traveler." As the investigation progresses, ties are drawn to an elusive psychopathic killer who started his spree decades ago."
