| Plot Summary of One Night for Love |
"Neville, a nobleman and officer, promised to marry Lily after her soldier father died. They were only married long enough to share one night of passion before Neville saw her tragically killed. After her death, Neville closed his heart away, forcing himself to live past the memories he has of his one true love. A year and a half later, Neville is at the altar, prepared to be married to his childhood friend and sweetheart, when a beggar woman rushes into the church instead of his bride-to-be. To his shock, Neville realizes that the beggar woman is Lily, the woman he thought he'd lost. Now that he has a second chance, he has to reawaken the love that he and Lily once shared and help her heal the wounds of her past. "

" As Lord Newbury, the Earl of Kilbourne, awaits his bride to come down the aisle, his wedding is interrupted by his former wife, whom he thought had died two years before. Lily Doyle had married Major Lord Newbury in Portugal, after he promised her dying father, Sergeant Doyle, that he would marry her and give her the protection of his name. They had one perfect night of love before being attacked the next day, Lord Newbury (Neville) is rendered unconcious by a wound, but not before seeing Lily mortally wounded.
Two years later, Lily finds Neville, and tells him her tragic tale of captivity by the French and Spanish, before making her escape back to England. Neville is shocked and feels horrible about the pain he has caused his long time fiance, Laurnen Edgeworth. Lily feels like an inadequate wife for Neville, due to her commoner origins, and feels as if he deserves the perfect Lauren. When a loophole make their marriage null and void, Lily takes it so she can Neville the freedom she feels he deserves.
Neville does not want freedom, though, and begins to court Lily, who has decided to learn the art of being a Lady of the ton. Their renewed courtship is marred by someone who is trying to kill Lily. "
