| Plot Summary of Counterparts |
"A convent in New Hampshire explodes, killing almost every nun, except Sister Sister Marianne. Ruthless FBI agent Margaret Chisholm and CIA agent Nicholas Denton are placed in charge of the case, and they suspect Sepsis, an international killer, is behind the bombing.
They believe Sepsis will keep trying to kill Sister Marianne, with whom they go to Italy, where the nun has work to do in a restoration project. Chisholm and Denton have an ambiguous relationship. The book is full of violence and has some twists involving high rank conspiracies and personal interests."
