Plot Summary of To the Far Blue Mountains
"This is the second book that traces the adventures of Barnabas Sackett. The Queen has an unfounded warrant out for his arrest and so Barnabas must sail for an unknown country - the future U.S. By hook or by crook, he surrounds himself with many loyal friends, a beautiful and adventurous woman, and a few hardened enemies. In his path across the sea, Sackett must face the dangerous pirate, Nick Bardle, among others. Once setting foot on American soil Barnabas and his comrades must also take on the extra challenges of facing Mother Nature and fierce Indian tribes. But this is a story of the strong men and women that settled unknown lands. They had an inner drive and determination to explore, to learn, to grow, to conquer or, to die trying. Sackett's tale is the story of the birth of a nation."
Lucy Johnson, Resident Scholar
