Plot Summary of Gabriel's Woman
"If you love heros with angst, you will find Schone's character Gabriel is the most mesmerising example of angst in print. He is known on the London streets as the Untouchable Angel. Though for over 14 years he has permitted no one to touch him physically -- or emotionally -- yet he is the proprietor of the House of Gabriel, a premier class brothel for male and female clients.

The fair-haired Gabriel and his dark-haired street friend Michael were prostitutes in Paris, trained by a madame from the time they were 13 years old. Michael was trained for women; Gabriel for men. Then when he was 26, something happened to Gabriel that destroyed his ability to allow anyone to touch him, or to allow himself to smile, trust, or love. Not even Michael, dearer to his heart than a brother, is ever again permitted the least trace of intimacy.

The book follows the sensual release of the tortured Gabriel from his prison of angst and self-loathing, through the love of Gabriels' Woman -- Victoria. Frankly sensual from the first page to the last, the book's poignant sex is made all the more riveting by Gabriel's agonizing hunger for acceptance and love.

"This is the second book of two about Michael and Gabriel.

Thirty-four year old Victoria Childers has been dismissed from her position as a governess because of unwanted advances from her employer and his wife's jealousy. After six months on the street with no money, malnurished and no shelter she decides on the last option available. In the House of Gabriel, a high class bordello, Victoria puts her virginity up for auction.

Gabriel, the house's proprietor, knows what has driven this woman to such drastic measures. He remembers the choice he made (along with his friend Michael) between no food and shelter and becoming a male prostitute. But Gabriel's winning bid on Victoria has nothing to do with his desire to deflower the woman. He has received information that an old enemy has sent this woman to him. Victoria is Gabriel's only link to discovering his enemy's identity. And Gabriel has spent the last 14 years searching for the man so that Gabriel can seek his revenge.

Gabriel, one of two celebrated 'stallions' (i.e. male prostitutes) along with Michel de Anges (Michael of the Angels) is known as the untouchable angel. Gabriel has not let anyone touch him in over 14 years. Not since he was kidnapped, tortured and raped by his nameless enemy. Although Victoria is expecting to fulfill her end of the auction, she soon realizes that Gabriel's interest in her is only for information. But as he comes to know Victoria, Gabriel begins to fall in love.

He is determined to protect her as he does many of the city's destitute. When the murderer sends another shocking message to Victoria about her untimely demise, Gabriel must depend on his 'family' of whores, beggars and cutthroats to protect the only two things he has come to love- Michael and Victoria.
