| Plot Summary of Castle Rising |
"The year is 1307. The Scottish freedom fighter William Wallace is dead; but in his wake has left England in ruin. To save his crumbling Empire, the evil Edward II, King of England, takes for his bride the young and exquisitely beautiful Isabella, daughter of the King of France. A disturbed and perverse young man, obsessed with his male lover Piers Gaveston, his real plan is to kill her and frame his arch enemy Scotland. Immediately after the marriage Isabella learns of his plans, but cleverly thwarts every attempt on her life, finding protection with two lovers, the King of Scotland and the King of Wales. She in turn plots the overthrow of her husband, emerges triumphant by turning political events against him and in doing so saves the empire from annihilation.
