Plot Summary of Flash Fire
"When Pinch Canyon is attacked by a flash fire, three teens and a child try to escape from the fire. Their escape is complicated by the stupidity and selfishness of each of the characters. Not as good as Flight #116 is Down, as the characters are not as likeable, and Cooney does not seem to like them, making this book a condemnation of parents who ignore their children in favor of money or their careers."
Christine G., Resident Scholar

"When a fire that started in LA reaches Pinch Canyon, a rich neighborhood, nobody is expecting it. Parents are at work, so all the kids left home alone must choose whether to stay and fight for their house, or leave it to the fire. Torn between losing their home and risking their lives, they must find some way to survive this horrible, gleaming fire.
"

Qiana Wylie, Resident Scholar
