Plot Summary of The Postman Always Rings Twice
"Frank Chambers shows up one day at Nick Papadakis's roadside joint, where the good-natured Greek offers him work and board. Though Frank is not keen on staying, he develops a relationship with Nick's wife, Cora, who married Nick out of sheer desperation. Frank and Cora plan to kill Nick so that they can stay together, and succeed the second time. With a high-staked courtroom scene, the two are released, believing they are free to do whatever they please. But the trials of the case have already formed a rift in their relationship, and tragedy comes around again for the lovers."
