Plot Summary of Kiss Me Once, Kiss Me Twice
"

Warner, Feb 2004, 5.99, 288 pp.
ISBN: 0446613991

Skye Farrel grew up with her two younger sisters in a household in which the topic sex was not hidden as their mother led the social revolution that women do not need a man to be complete. Their mother has never married their father though they have been together for over three decades. Thus it is not shocking to find Skye providing sex seminars starring Dinah the Vagina and a rubber penis.

Skye agrees to be the maid of honor at her assistant's wedding though she herself does not believe in the institution. At the affair she meets retired NASCAR hunk, Clint MacAllister. Though he believes that Skye is after his banana, he rejects her because he plans to marry someone else. However, as Skye and Clint become more familiar with one another both reconsider their previous positions and now they want his banana and her cherry married, but must persuade the other that their respective fruit is passion.

Though the number of puns, innuendos and double entendres would make Piers Anthony take notice, fans of amusing contemporary romances will appreciate this tongue in cheek look at the gender wars. The story line never takes itself seriously regardless of who plays top banana at the moment. The lead protagonists are a fun duet rejecting the idea of either marriage or marriage with one another although love enters the dysfunctional relationship. KISS ME ONCE, KISS ME TWICE provides an offbeat look at sex, love, and marriage. And hopefully will have sequels including a flashback to the parents' tale staring in the 1960s (let's see the rocket ship and the moon as phallic symbols?).
