| Plot Summary of Alicia: My Story |
"The Jurmans, a Jewish family, live in 1930's Poland. When the Nazi's almost peacefully invade the country, the change of lifestyle is slow. But one of Alicia Jurman's brother's is sent to a concentration camp, and soon she is outcast by her Aryan friends. Then, Alicia's father dissapears, and her brothers are murdered. She loses everything she knows, and faces enprisonment/death more than once. Her only redemption is to be found in helping the others that have shared her misfortune. Alicia Jurman's real-life memoir is a horrifying and heart-wrenching account, in the same spirit of the Diary of Anne Frank, and its a story that people should know."

"Alicia is 11 when the war begins. She is in school and notices some of her fellow jewish students disapearing. She learns a little bit about the war before she is forced into a "ghetto", or a small town reserved for Jews. While living there, she learns that her Ukrainian neighbors turned her in. She loses her family members one by one. She relates her experiences in a heartbreaking story of the Holocaust."

"This is a memoir of Alicia. When she was a teenager, her family members started to dissapear because the Germans - the Nazis, took them. Soon, everyone in her family was killed except her mother and her. In this memoir, she explains how she survived the horrible Holocaust. Days before the liberation, she saw her mother die in front of her. Her mother was shot by a German. She was the only one left in her family. In this memoir, she describes how she survived and the tactics she used. She not only found a way to hide herself, she also helped other Jews to escape when she was still in danger.
This is a memoir about a young brave and a courageous girl who helped herself and other Jews.
