In Denver Kelly Richmond Vincent waited over five years for her husband Chaz to return home from the Amazon quest for the lost Inca city before finally accepting that he died when his plane went down. She had the court declare him legally dead just last week. Following a brief wedding ceremony in which Kelly will marry her fiancé Spencer Preston, she will attend her first husband's funeral. Spencer arranged both events on the same day based on his and hers work schedules at Pizzazz Magazine.
Following the wedding, Kelly attends Chaz's funeral when someone says “Hi, honey! I'm ho-oome”. Chaz explains to a nearly unconscious Kelly why they found his downed plane with the other bodies except for his. He was on a short detour when he became the “guest” of a local tribe until another group of explorers ransomed him. When Kelly tells him she remarried; Chaz feels betrayed. She knows that she still loves her Indiana Jones like first husband, but feels more secure with her second spouse. Of course, bigamy will not allow her to keep both.
Using the theme from the classic Grant-Dunne movie My Favorite Wife, Pam McCutheon spins an amusing romantic romp that captures all the lunacy of the 1930s screwball comedies. The cast makes the story line work and hold up well against the model it emulates. Fans will laugh as a bewildered Kelly pondering, in spite of love, which man is better for her and her for him. Fans will also look forward to a sequel starring Kelly's delightful brother though that will have to wait until next summer to read in yarn.
