Plot Summary of Jemima J
"Jemima Jones is overweight and in love with her office mate, Ben Williams. Ben, unfortunately, likes Jemima, but will love her better once she has lost half her body mass so Jemima can pursue her Internet lover in California. The writing is good-- a lovely Cinderella story with a sarcastic omniscient narrator-- but the story is troubling and cliched."
Christine G., Resident Scholar

"This book is about a British girl who hated being overweight and had the desire but not the drive to do something about her weight problem until she met a hunk from California on the Internet. Desperate to meet him, she wises up and loses weight and heads to Cali., and ends up finding out that being thin has its disadvantages as well. A real good book for someone who has tried to lose weight or is in the process of doing so. There is hope for us after all!"
Holly Lindsey, Resident Scholar
