In Houston, Delilah Montague cannot get any sleep because her next door neighbor makes a racket at night. She owns the exclusive Spa Demay that she inherited from her recently deceased elderly companion Howard “Cash” Bradford. Working extremely hard to prove herself, Delilah knows that most of her employees, Cash's daughter, and her patrons believe she earned this business by being bed prone as Cash's candy. She knows the truth though she vowed not to reveal to anyone.
If Delilah thought her world was complicated enough, she soon finds Cash left her with one more problem. Apparently Viagra worked a miracle and Cash sired a baby that has just been dumped on Delilah. She obtains the help of her neighbor ethical attorney Benjamin Huntington III in dealing with the infant. As they become acquainted they fall in love, but his family rejects her as unsuitable for the brother of a future state politician. Ben does not care, but Delilah does.
Readers will enjoy this contemporary romance that focuses on the maxim not to judge a book by its cover (figuratively as this cover seems apropos). The story line is well written with ironically readers, Ben, and the support cast drawing conclusions about Delilah that fail to hold up under closer scrutiny. Though she and Ben seem to have no personal issues except as they relate to one another, fans will take WHEN SHE'S BAD to the bank as a fine read.
