Plot Summary of The Silver Wolf
"In "The Silver Wolf," a young woman named Regeane struggles to cope with being imprisoned by her uncle. She is being kept because she is able to turn into a wolf, which her uncle thinks is dangerous. However, he manages to get her betrothed to a wealthy mountain lord, which she becomes frightened of. Eventually she escapes and enjoys her new freedom as both woman and wolf. She befriends a courtesan named Lucilla who tells Regeane to marry the mountain lord. Soon she becomes involved in a politcal power struggle between Lucilla's friend the pope and the Cardinal of the church. However, Regeane's uncle still searches for her and becomes so angry that he threatens to tell everyone about her secret. Can Regeane live live freely as woman and wolf? "

"During Charlamagne's rule, the once powerful and gorgeous city of Rome is now in ruin. Corruption and political ambition drive its citizens above all else. Regeane is a distant kin to Charlemagne, but that's the least of her incredible assets. She's also inherited her father's ability to shape shift into a wolf.

But her talents and abilities are exploited at every turn by just about everyone she encounters. Her cousin and uncle have kept her captive and living in poverty for years. Now that she's reached the proper age, they have decided to marry her off to a barbarian she's never even laid eyes on. Their plan is to eventually dispose of the man, and live off his wealth. "
