Plot Summary of Flirting With Disaster
"

Ivy, Nov 2003, 352 pp.
ISBN: 0345458400

Tolosa, Texas police officer Dave DeMarco is stunned with the TV news that the girl he loved but did not date in high school Lisa Merrick died in a Mexican plane crash. While Dave privately mourns he is even more stunned when a distraught Lisa calls that night. She pleads with Dave to rescue her insisting the plane she piloted was sabotaged.

Dave wants to ignore her pleas as he raises his daughter by himself. However, he immediately goes to Mexico where he finds an injured Lisa. She explains that the local clinic head Dr. Robert Douglas is selling illegal pharmaceuticals and tried to kill her and her missing passenger Dr. Adam Decker because they found his illegal stash of counterfeits. As Douglas' law enforcement supporters try to stop them, the duo manage to escape back to Texas. When they learn that Adam, thought dead, still lives, they race back to Mexico to rescue him even as their teenage love blossoms into something stronger. If they survive FLIRTING WITH DISASTER will Dave and Lisa act on these feelings?

Fans of non stop, exciting action packed thriller with a strong romantic subplot will want to fly with FLIRTING WITH DISASTER. The story line is fast-paced as Lisa and Dave escape from Mexico twice. Lisa is a strong lead protagonist but though Dave promised to be there if she ever needed him, it still feels like a stretch to call a high school bud. Still the adventures are fun to follow and the lead couple is a delightful pair so that the audience receives a fast-paced tale that showcases Jane Graves' romantic suspense skills.
