In Tyler, Texas Widow Kasey Ellis is stunned when someone kills her mentor and business partner Shirley Parker in the garage with Kasey witnessing the murder. However, she is unable to identify the killer as he lurked in the shadows.
Kasey is shocked when she learns how close to bankruptcy the public relations firm is. Her only chance of saving the company resides in bad boy turned senate candidate Tanner Hart, who decides to hire her company. The problem is that eighteen years ago Kasey and Tanner shared a heated night of passion leading to her raising their son with another man as the father and her husband. If that news surfaces the scandal will cost Tanner his bid for the senate and Kasey will lose her business and lifestyle.
This is an exciting romantic suspense starring a strong cast though the reasons for the murder seem a bit weak. The story line is loaded with action and intense drama. The frustrated police cannot get Kasey to describe someone she failed to see beyond the shadows. Tanner is an interesting protagonist who behaves more like Jimmy Stewart's Mr. Smith though why he would hire a firm in trouble seems strange. Still fans will enjoy this fast-paced thriller.
