| Plot Summary of Rainbow's End |
"Bob Adamov shows his talent in this interesting adventure: "Rainbow's End." Colonel Shelby Harrington is sent by Jefferson Davis to rescue confederate soldiers from the Johnson's Island prison in Lake Erie. He is also to bring a trunk filled with treasure and a secret document for Jefferson Davis. The plan goes wrong. The men are captured, and the trunk is lost.
Adamov then takes us to the present time. The locale remains the islands in Lake Erie near Sandusky, Ohio. The main characters now are Emerson Moore, Jacques and Francois L'Hostes, Martine and Tim Tobin and their son Austin. Jacques and Francois are the villains, rich, powerful, and corrupt. The adventure includes friction between Moore and the L'Hostes, an affection between Moore and Martine, fist fights, hit and run attempts, murders speed boat chases, helicopter attacks, and dangerous underground caves.
Rainbow's End is a fast-moving, action-packed novel with a plot that starts in civil war times and is finally resolved in modern times.
