"Evan E. Kerrian is a troubled main character who plummets deep into an internal void, contemplating suicide after he is ruthlessly tormented and viciously brutalized by callous peers, wicked teachers, and a frigid, neglectful family who can't seem to pull it together after a family tragedy rips them at the seams. After numerous suicide attempts, Evan befriends several mysterious shadows, one who entices him into a deeper, bottomless chasm; the other who arms him with powerful, rugged stones, ammunition that is necessary to stave off the vultures who nibble at his beaten and weathered flesh. Yet it is up to Evan to decide which path to choose, whether he is to tumble deeper along the road of self-destruction or soar along the path of self-love and self-appreciation."
