| Plot Summary of Last Things, First Things |
"Val and Erin each visit an outpatient clinic, and each ends up with mistaken beliefs which dramatically affect their lives: Erin continues making important changes in her life, to adopt an infant and start her own business. Val realizes he's been letting his life slip by since his baseball career ended and has not found any career or any person that will give meaning to his life. When Val and Erin meet and fall in love, the misinformation again affects their lives, putting an insurmountable barrier between them. The clock is ticking, and only luck will decide whether they find out the truth in time.
