Plot Summary of Unforgiven
"Moira Hayes and Kenneth Woodfall were in love as children, but Kenneth betrays Moira's brother and indirectly causes his death. When they meet several years later, Moira will not forgive him, noragree to marry him, though circumstances will require her to both marry and forgive him."
Christine G,, Resident Scholar

"    Kenneth Woodfall, the Earl of Haverford, has decided to go back to his country home in Cornwall after leaving their eight years before to join the military because his heart had been broken by his sweetheart, Moira Hayes. Moira and Kenneth had a forbidden love, due to the animosity between their great-grandfathers.

When Kenneth returns he has learned that besides the death of his father, Moira's father and brother have also perished and she is engaged to be married to the man who has taken her father's title. Her fiance, Sir Edwin, has smoothed over a rift between them and they are invited to the Christmas ball. Sir Edwin must unexpectedly leave the ball, and Kenneth agrees to see Moira home through a snowstorm. Kenneth and Moira have one night of passion for survival after they become stranded in a hermit's shack, but that night had consequences.

Kenneth and Moira still feel bitter towards each other, and love had turned to hatred, only deep in their heart, they still feel the love. They must fight their own misgivings, as well as a lifetime of animosity that has raged between their families. "
