Plot Summary of Maggie's Miracle
"

Warner, Oct 2003, 13.95, 164 pp.
ISBN: 0446532304

Two years ago George Wright died from a massive coronary leaving behind his wife Megan and their six year old son Jordan. The surviving Wrights lost more than a father and husband as both still mourn his death. With Megan fully occupied as a NYC prosecutor, Jordan feels lonely. He writes a letter to God asking for a daddy for Christmas. Megan sees the note and decides to sign up her son with the Healing Hearts Program.

Restaurateur Casey Cummins has never recovered from the deaths of his wife and baby. His caring friend persuades him to volunteer at the Healing Hearts Program. His child is Jordan. As he and Jordan become pals, he and Megan fall in love, but both must overcome the ghosts of losing their first spouse.

This inspirational family drama is an enjoyable contemporary tale that encourages those who have lost a loved one not to give up on life. The three key characters seem real and those coaxing them to start anew with fond memories add depth to the theme. A neat twist involving the teen past of the adults will turn some off, but most readers will see it as MAGGIE'S MIRACLE.
