| Plot Summary of Peel My Love Like An Onion |
"A young flamenco dancer, Carmen the Cripple, finds her future greatly changed when she forsakes her long-time lover for his godson. A rivalry takes both lovers away, her polio returns, her career appears to be over, and her family relationships get more complex. Carmen learns resilience and independence to win small but glorious victories.
The writing is lyrical, with charming twists of language that create the "otherness" of the flamenco and gypsy culture."
