|Plot Summary of Mariner's Compass|
Benni Harper inherits a house from a man whom she has never met but who appears to have been intimately connected with her mother. She is required to spend two weeks in the house, alone, which annoys her husband, police chief Gabe Ortiz. During that time, she begins to explore the relationship of her benefactor to her mother, and her benefactor's unsavoury past.
