"Glenin, former First Daughter of Ambrai, plots the ruin of her sisters, Sarra, Councillor of Sheve, and Cailet, the new Mage Captal. She sends her son to Cailets school for Mageborn while Sara's own children are also there. Then tragedy strikes as Sara's husband is murdered and the Mage Hall destroyed. The Mages are forced to find a new place to live, where the Malerris can't harm them.
