"At 18, Marcos meets the woman he believes to be his eternal love. They are parted under mysterious circumstances and he is inconsolable - until he meets a wise old man who frees him from his obsession, then offers him great wealth and the chance to build an empire. Marcos accepts; begins a dazzling new life of danger and international intrigue which carries him from Rome to New York to Florida.
