| Plot Summary of Lenten Lands |
"Douglas Gresham is one of two sons of Helen Joy Davidman, who was first married to American novelist William Gresham, and later to C. S. Lewis. He published his autobiography in 1988, having risen in his own right to the height of being a well-known radio and TV broadcaster in Australia. However, his fame to the world at large has been more often incidentally recounted as one of the two sons of his more famous mother and step-father, whose story is told in the film 'Shadowlands'. He tells his story plainly and well, and gives a revealing and insightful commentary on many aspects of the Davidman-Lewis household. He recounts his own emotional 'growing up' adroitly, with much candour and modesty, and with the clear eye of the child gently records the emotional side of the Lewis brothers and house, without skipping the hard parts."
