| Plot Summary of Presumption of Guilt |
"Beth Sullivan grew un in an abusive children's home where she was involved in a crime ring and trained to be a thief. Brainwashed by Bill Brandon, the home operator, the children break into people's homes and steal. As Beth leaves the home, she decides to speak up and expose Brandon. She changes her name, gets a job at a newspaper and starts working on an article about the children's home. As she gathers information and evidence, Brandon comes after her. The day after Beth interviews his sister who used to be a part of the crime ring, his sister is murdered. Then Beth finds a kid hiding in the attic of her house, sent by Brandon to break into her computer and erase all the files with the information about the children's home. Beth manages to earn boy's trust; terrified at first, he then agrees to testify against Brandon. With the help of Nick Hutchins, a social worker, and Lynda Barrett, a lawyer, Beth keeps struggling to get Brandon arrested - which proves to be hard, since one of his accomplices is the judge."
