Plot Summary of The Visitor
"Reacher is profiled as a serial killer by the FBI. They watch his activities, force him through threats to cooperate in their investigation. He's eliminated as a suspect after a humiliating interrogation. One threat after another finally gains his cooperation. Being a former major in the Army, and a military policeman, he's outraged by the FBI tactics. But he decides to cooperate, against his better judgement, in trying to solve the serial killings of former Army women who filed harassment charges against their former superiors and left the service. "
F. Scott Sinclair, Resident Scholar

"This book is about a drifter called Jack Reacher helping the FBI solve some strange murders. It is also about his personal life. His commitment to his girlfriend and whether he wants to be weighed down in the same place for the rest of his life.
Jack Reacher is an old military policeman who is very bright and in very good physical condition.
"

Alex Watterson, Resident Scholar
