| Plot Summary of The Dirty Duck |
" It's the land of Shakespeare and the Dirty Duck pub is filled with activity! In this
Martha Grimes thriller, Superintendent Richard Jury finds his hands full. Not far from
the pub and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford, a body is discovered, the victim
being a member of a renowned tour company. This time the murderer has left an
intentional clue--a scrap of Elizabethan verse! Baffling as it is, the case is even more
muddled when a young boy, from the same tour, vanishes. Jury expects more of the verse
to appear, as he knows there is a connection! Grimes is at her best her as she permits her
quintessential Scotland Yardie to assimilate the facts, discard the red herrings, and compile
the arrest warrant! Once again he succeeds, again with the help of his friends, Melrose
Plant, Aunt Agatha, Vivian Rivington--the whole Long Pid crew. A delightful read!
