Plot Summary of The King of Torts
"The Office of the Public Defenders is not known as a training ground for bright young litigators. Clay Carter has been there too long, and like most of his colleagues, dreams of a better job in a real firm.

Soon in this story, Clay stumbles on a conspiracy too horribe to believe. He suddenly finds himself in the middle of a complex case against one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world and looking at the kind of enormous settlement that would totally change his life. Pretty soon Clay Carter is known as the legal profession's newest king of torts. "

Boppy, Resident Scholar

" Clay is a lawyer working at the Office of the Public Defender. He gets assigned a case one day, and he just thinks that the case will be like any one of his other murder cases. He finds out that his client, Tequila Watson, was given a drug called Tarvan."
Vincent, Resident Scholar

"Clay Carter, a public defender, does not like his job. He comes in every day and defends poor people that everyone knows are guilty. He takes a case of a young man charged with murder. It was just a random street killing. When he starts digging, he finds out that the reason the young man killed the guy could have been because of a medication. He then gets in the middle of a difficult case against one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world. The case could make him rich. He could become the king of torts. All he has to do is beat the competitors and the pharmaceutical company. Can he do it?"
Geoff Pears, Resident Scholar
