In 1887 London, Fanny Jarvis may be the top pickpocket for Gentleman Jack Swift, but still remembers better times across the ocean when she was known as Faith Jervais. Fanny tries to steal from Baron Troyce de Meir, but he catches her. Instead of just turning the young filthy felon over to the constable, Troyce offers Fanny a job in his household. She accepts and when she cleans up, Troyce is stunned by how beautiful the street sassy lass is.
Although he is very attracted to his newest servant, Troyce is too honorable to act on it. Besides which, he needs to marry an heiress to save the family fortune. Troyce falls in love with Fanny, who shocks herself by reciprocating his feelings. There is trouble looming over the horizon however because no one deserts Gentleman Jack and then there is the Americans and Scotland Yard whom are searching for someone.
A SCANDALOUS LADY, the sequel to the amusing western romance AN UNLIKELY LADY, is an exciting Victorian romance. The story line is filled with action and plenty of romance, but especially delectable is the battle royals between the primary protagonists. Rachelle Morgan displays her vast talent with this terrific tale that is set so differently from its predecessor, yet is just as good. Fans will cherish both Jervais novels.
