"Winston Marlowe Sherman is a professor of English. He is also secretly the author of a very successful series of mysteries under the pen name of Henrietta Slocum. Thirty years ago, Winston attended a party honoring Dylan Thomas. During this party, an original folio copy of Webster's The Duchess of Malfi was stolen. Now the manuscript has reappeared, and it has brought danger to the people whom Winston loves the most. He must, for the first time in his life, solve a real crime and he finds it much harder than writing about imaginary ones."
