| Plot Summary of A Knight In Shining Armor |
"Suffering from being second-best in a relationship fraught with problems, Douglass cries out from her despair. The response to her heartbroken cry came in the form of a medieval earl who was on the brink of committing suicide when he was taken from his time and to the modern-day Douglass. From there, the earl, Nicholas, helps Douglass realize that she is worthy of love, respect, and equality. In their journey, they consumate their love, but in the process, Nicholas is taken back to his proper time. From here, it was Douglass' turn to return to Nicholas in the past, but when she arrived, he does not remember her. With her mission to save Nicholas' life from being cut short prematurely, the pair fall in-love all over again but are once more torn apart. Douglass is taken back to her time and she begins to rebuild her life without Nicholas. "

"The leading lady, Douglass, is living with a controlling jerk who has a spoiled teenaged brat for a daughter. Douglas has been desperatly trying to befriend the girl but to no avail. Trying to bring them closer together as a family, the three go on vacation to Britain. While there, Douglas has a falling out with her boyfriend and is stranded at an old Medeval Church. While there she runs into a gorgeous man in full armor.
He is Sir Nicholas. And he is from 16th century England! Hopelessly confused and lost, Douglas takes pity on him and takes him under his wing. They have to solve the mystery of his time travel and get him back to his own time. They are extremely attracted to each other and the sexual tension is absolutely sizzling. They suceed in sending him back, leaving Douglas alone and desolate.
She in turn finds a way to go back to him in his own time. She runs into him and finds out that he is a cocky playboy with little regard to women's feelings. Eventually though, they come together with dynamic, shattering results. Alas, in the end, Douglas is forced back to her own time, alone. There she meets a descendent of Nicholas' and starts a new romance with him.
This book is the reason readers have come to love Jude Deveraux. She delivers a read that will make you laugh, cry, and wish for your own Knight in Shining Armor. "
