| Plot Summary of Worst Fears Realized |
"Stuart Woods has written another book with his favorite character, Stone Barrington. An excellent novel with a lot of plot twists. It's a good book to read in your spare time. Not the perfect mystery book, but still a good effort."

"Stone Barrington, a lawyer at a prestigious law firm, must look at his past and receive help from unexpected people in order to discover the person responsible for the murders of Stone's closest friends. With the help of Dino Bacchetti, Stone realizes that the murders are similar to the one performed by Herbert Mitteldorfer, a criminal who was put in jail by Stone and Dino years earlier. However, this assumption leads to a dead end.
Stone and Dino discover, through an interrogation of Mitteldorfer, that he was in jail when the murders occurred and he was supposedly rehabilitated. When Stone and Dino return to the prison to question Mitteldorfer again, they are shocked to hear that he is released earlier than expected. Not only is Mitteldorfer released, he also is unable to be found by Stone and Dino. With his main suspect gone, Stone resorts to using the help of the mafia to discover the whereabouts of Herbert Mitteldorfer. Stone becomes desperate in finding the killer before he strikes again.
Stone's desperation also becomes obvious when he uses his relationships with women to find the killer. Sarah Buckminster, a famous painter and a girlfriend of Stone, finds herself to be the target of the killer. Stone uses Sarah to lure the killer into a trap, which consists of several disguised police officers at Sarah's apartment building. Stone's trap fails due to the fact the killer notices the disguised officers, allowing him to get away. The killer retaliates by trying to blow up Sarah at her art exposition. With the killer's actions becoming bolder, Stone is faced with the realization that he may lose another person who means a lot to him.
