"Aline, a dancer, marries Sir James for secret reasons (she is persuaded to deceive him), but she fells in love with him. When he discovers her trap (because of her own admission) he shout her out of his home... but he doesn't know she is pregnant and doesn't believe her when she tells him she loves him... he will hate her till she gets seriously ill..."

" Aline, who travels with entertaining troupe, is asked to impersonate a Duke's neice, who is engaged to a man who will hate and abuse her. Aline agrees to pretend to be the noblewoman in exchange for the Duke employing her parents to get them out of the harmful control of their troupe's leader. Aline believes the man she is going to marry is a mean, vengeful man, so does not mind the deception.
Sir James Norwen, is the bastard son of the Earl of Norwen, and a powerful knight in his own right. Sir James kidnaps and marries the Lady Clarissa, a woman is bethrothed to through a contract. The marriage will bring him even more power and control than he already has, what James does not realize that the woman he has taken is actually Aline pretending to be the Lady.
As Aline is abandoned by the Duke to Sir James, she slowly comes to realize that James is a good man and falls in love with him. James, who had no hopes for his marriage, falls in love to only to realize later that the Lady Clarissa is actually just a common woman. Even though he still loves her, he shuns her for lying and betraying him despite Aline telling him the truth before is hurt by it. She loves him, even as he sends her away to live with relatives, and keeps the secret of her impending pregnancy from him until the secret can no longer be held. "
