Plot Summary of Falconer's Crusade
"
He's been called “the Inspector Morse of 13th century Oxford,” this William
Falconer--and a good comparison, too. This is Morson's second book about Regent Mater
Falconer, and a good one it is too! It is 1264 and sleepy and academic Oxford is shocked
over the brutal murder of a young girl, and suspicions fly between the privileged students
and the poor townspeople. Falconer takes an active interest when one of his students is
almost lynched by a mob. Finding the murderer is not as simple as it seems, as there is
along list of suspects. Falconer must face a miasma of heresy, political intrigue,
magic, and, of course, lots of violence--all are truly poisonous!
