Plot Summary of Death at Wentwater Court
"The year is 1923, and it is a time when daughters of upper class British families do not do anything as common as seeking employment. The Honorable Daisy Dalrymple, however, has broken with convention and has taken a position as a writer for the magazine Town and Country rather than be supported by her rather unpleasant relatives.

Her first assignment is to write an article about stately Wentwater Court which is the home of Lord Wentwater and his attractive and much younger second wife, Annabel. Daisy is welcomed at Wentwater Court as befits her social position even though she is a professional writer. She quickly gets to know the family and houseguests, and detects undercurrents of hostility and jealousy in the group. When one of the guests dies in a skating accident, Daisy finds evidence that it might be murder, and she is very pleased to be able to assist the attractive Scotland Yard detective, Alec Fletcher, who is assigned to the case.

This is the first of the Daisy Dalrymple series and is bound to please any fan of classic British cozy mysteries."
