Plot Summary of The Beggar Queen
"In the second sequel to Westmark, Mickle is now the Queen of Westmark. However, all is not well in the country. Some old revolutionaries led by a man named Justin wish to abolish the monarchy in spite of Mickle's benevolence, and the nation is largely bankrupt. To make matters worse, a neighboring king, fearful over Mickle's anti-nobility practices, has taken in the former Chief Minister, Cabbarus. He helps him seize control of the kingdom, and Mickle once more finds herself on the streets, with only her old friends to help her stay alive. Cabbarus proclaims himself the director of the nation, and proceeds to go on a bloody reign of terror. The old revolutionaries are forced to reunite and attempt to finish their fight with Cabbarus once and for all...    "
