"One of my all time favorite books...if you love ER you will love this! The main story is about the Harvard medical class of 1962 with emphasis on the two main characters, Barney and Laura. They grew up next to each other and always aspired to be doctors, eventually ending up in medical school together. There is a lot of medical knowledge to be found here and many exciting hospital room scenes. There is also a simmering attraction between Laura and Barney that begs to be consummated and eventually is, though it takes many years filled with scientific celebrity and disappointing relationships to finally get there."
