ImaJinn, Nov 20002,231pp
ISBN: 1893896900
Fearful for her life because she knows the villagers will brutally kill a Calavarian Witch, Jinissa hide her innate skills. Still, when she sees a child in trouble, Jinissa ignoring her elemental flame acts to rescue the lad using witchcraft. The villagers react by shunning Jinissa except for jailing her. At her trail, everyone including the child's father testifies that Jinissa used witchcraft. She is found guilty and sentenced to die.
Before they kill her, the local magistrate pronounces that Jinissa will be lashed so that everyone will know the mark of a witch. However, just when they begin the whipping, Lord Stephen arrives with the King's orders to bring Jinissa to the royal court. As they travel together, the reticent Stephen and the timorous Jinissa fall in love. However, he loathes the Calavarians and firmly believes in total loyalty to His Highness who apparently has plans for Jinissa.
